‘From Field to Frame: Grounding Collective Practices in the Outdoors’, organized by Raju Patel features artists of the ‘Outdoor Practice’ group initiative.

This group initiative is led by artist Raju Patel in Baroda. The decision to engage in the social and cultural milieu by placing oneself in public and open spaces was a compelling need felt by the artists, who in recent times had retreated into the reclusive cocoons of their private studios. It was also an intended detour from the production line practices demanded by the art market, shifting towards more exploratory and playful engagements with life and nature.

This group exhibition seeks to view landscapes not only as picturesque settings but also as sites for generating contextual meanings. By engaging more spontaneously with these environments, the artists hope to challenge conventional perspectives and explore how the outdoors can influence and inspire their work.
