Why do we scorn astrological predictions, yet sometimes feel a curiosity to read or listen about our horoscope if we happen to come across one? While it is "scientific" to believe that there are no ghosts/spirits/spectres then why sometimes does the fear of something supernatural haunts us in a dark, unknown place? While on the surface a modern life with all its access, education and mindset has permeated all aspects of living, on a more personal, interior level though we are apparently still invested in a magical possibility of life. A magical possibility that not only contradicts the modern view of life but also seems to surpass our own subscription to modernity.
The workshop 'The Modern Self versus the Magical Self' aimed to study this conflict between newly realized 'modern living' and our 'magical fantasies'.
